To Wear or Not to Wear?

Spring is around the corner, and that means new styles are popping up to fit the season.

One trend that is starting to reappear is low-rise bottoms from the late 90’s and early 2000’s.

Glamour Magazine states, “High-rise jeans have dominated our wardrobes for over a decade, but come spring 2022, the low-slung waist makes its way back.” The goal of low rise jeans is to show off the midriff by pairing them with a crop top or tight shirt.

Another upcoming trend is neon colors. Hot pink, neon yellow, and lime green are all popular colors starting to come back in style. Inspired by the 80’s and 90’s, these colors are being worn with low rise sweats, bright colored tops, bags, and accessories.

Not only are bright colors from the 80’s and low rise from the 90’s coming back, sheer fabrics are also trending.

The Zoe Report states, “As evidenced on the recent Spring/Summer 2022 runways of Tom Ford, David Koma, and Rejina Pyo, shimmering, sheer dresses are hitting hard next year.” Many models are already wearing sheer dresses and many popular brands have already started selling sheer items in preparation for the spring season.

Cut-out dresses, tops, and bottoms are also trending.

L’officiel Singapore says, “The Spring/Summer 2022 and Pre-Fall 2022 fashion shows marked the return of the “Cut-Out” – a glamorous, penetrating, party-oriented trend. Think bare shoulders and back, with a cut that pops out at the waist, the collarbone, or even the lower belly.” The idea of cut-out is to show off skin, and look elegant while doing so.

New trends blending from  the past and current time are coming this year to spring 2022. These trends are exciting and will make this year different and fun.
