Let’s March Into Spring!
Spring Equinox:
Get ready for April showers and May flowers, the Vernal Equinox is here in the Northern Hemisphere! Here is what’s happening during this season in America. The Spring season is coming on March 20th, 2022, and ending June 21st, 2022.
The Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere is when “the Sun crosses the Equator line, heading north”, Making the days warmer, preparing for the Summer season.
Weather-
It is predicted that “This spring, we’re expecting to see warmer-than-normal temperatures across much of the United States, except for in Florida and the Desert Southwest”.
We are also expecting “Rainfall will be above normal in parts of the South” and “Expect more rain than normal in a large swathe of the western U.S.”, while everywhere else is predicted to be average.
Daylight savings time-
Time to get up early, daylight savings time is near! Sunday, March 13th is when time springs back, and you lose an hour of sleep while gaining an hour of daylight. The sun will rise later and the sun will set later, so get ready to change all the clocks. The Daylight savings time will end November 6th, 2022.
Although the spring will be warm, there is a prediction of lots of rain. The western US and the Midwest are predicted to have more rain than normal, but everywhere else would have a normal amount of rain.
Plants-
Due to the warmer temperatures, planting seeds early could be achievable, but before doing so look at the planting calendar in Virginia. Lots of flowers and lots of vegetables are going to be in this season.
Activities-
The spring season has so many activities to do, go visit Shenandoah national park, or one of the many local festivals. Take a trip to DC, have a picnic, visit a museum, there is much to do this season!
