Pep Rally: What to Expect
October 19, 2022
The Homecoming Pep Rally is something many look forward to each year. This year it is run by Jill Keehan, a senior here at Woodbridge. Jill states that she is looking forward to this year’s pep rally as it is her last one and it will be cool to see everything, she worked to fall into place. She also controlled the pep rally last year. The most exciting event for Jill will be the male pep squad, the boys from each class have been working on their routines to present to the school. The results will surely reflect the time and hard work spent on this pep rally. Homecoming provides fun events and memories, and the pep rally is a personal favorite for many.
Senior Jill Keehan has lots of fun things planned for this year’s pep rally. The games that will be played are tug of war, musical chairs, a relay race, and lastly the male pep squad. For tug of war, you will have two different grade levels that have a group of students at each end of the rope with a teacher designated to each group to help. The tug-of-war game too. They are going to need a strong class if they are going to win. The class of 2023 might win this one due to some of them being bigger and stronger kids. The class President Wissal Khlouf says the class of 2023 “has the motivation, the enthusiasm, the abilities, and the liveliness” to win.
One of the more competitive games will be musical chairs. “We will see who will win this competition game.” Mr. Bentley the teacher spouting the class says “We want to win it all and that’s what we’re going to do” They are very competitive, so they have a good chance of winning musical chairs.
For the relay race, the first leg of the race will wheelbarrow across the field to about the 35-yard line. The next teammate will have a field hockey stick and hit the ball into a target like a shoebox kind of thing. The 3rd leg will have to throw tennis balls throughout the whole hoops and once they make it through. The very last leg must dress up into a fairy costume and then run to the end zone and finish off that race. This game is going to need a fast class to win. The class of 2026 might win this one because some of them are smaller so it will help run fast.
Everyone is looking forward to the last event which is the male pep squad. Each grade level will have a male pep squad that has practiced a 2-minute dance routine. When asked whom Jill Keehan thinks will win male pep squad class will win, Jill Keehan said “I think the seniors are going to win this year” Due to the 3 years they have been watching and doing it, they know how it works.
In all the 2022 pep rally looks like it has a fun round-up!
