Niguel Goodman and Promise Opoku Prevail in the Battle for the Crown
Niguel Goodman and Promise Opoku win Prom King and Queen! Look behind the curtain and see the intense competition between the Seniors and how the winners celebrate.
Campaigning for Prom Royalty is intense this year. Prom Court nominees are putting their hearts into persuasion techniques to rack up votes for a spot on the throne. The 2023 Prom King nominees this year are Niguel Goodman, Dylan Cerrudo, and Chris Munguia-Cruz. The Prom Queen nominees include Promise Opoku-Yeboah, Citlaly Ambriz Juarez, and Elizabeth Krajack. On Friday Night, Niguel and Promise came out on top and earned the title of Prom King and Prom Queen.
When asked why he choose to run, Niguel Goodman said, “I really just ran for fun.” He said that he did not have any expectations and was shocked when his name was announced. He adds that, “there should have been a prize, like a gift card,” for the winners. He wants to thank his friends for the support, and that this was a great way to end the year.
Promise Opoku chose to run because her nickname is Prom, and the slogan “Prom 4 Prom Queen” was “too good to waste.” She adds, “As I was running, I realized I could really represent my class well if I were to win.” And that is what she did. Promise wants to thank her parents and friends for “giving the confidence to run,” and says, “It feels really good to win Prom Queen!”
What a successful Prom season this has been! Congratulations to our 2023 Prom King and Queen for such a deserved win and let us end the year off strong!
