Homecoming is here! One of the most thrilling events of Homecoming is the parade, where we watch sports teams, clubs, and people dressed up on cool floats. Some even throw candy at little kids, which makes it more exciting.
The Homecoming parade is scheduled for Friday the 13th, the day before Homecoming and after the pep rally. It starts at 4:00 PM at Deepford Drive and William and Mary Circle, ending in the student parking lot at 5:00 PM.
Rowan is excited about the Homecourt Court. “I have no idea what’s on It will be fun to find out”! The homecoming court is always a blast. They usually ride in a convertible, dressed in lovely dresses and suits. It is one of the most predicted floats every year.
Another significant aspect of the parade is JROTC. Micheal says they “lead the Parade.” They march in the parade, The drill team is also there with flags and weapons. They also handout candy to the spectators.
The cheerleaders are also a big part of the parade. Izzy says, “Many people will be thrown in the air.” It is a tradition that they ride on the fire truck. They will be in their uniforms, with their pom-poms, cheering and getting everybody excited for the game later that night!
All in all, the Homecoming parade is a fun and exciting time. Seeing all the fabulous floats and all the clubs and teams representing Woodbridge!
