Every Monday, from 10:30-12:30, 4th/5th period, Cody the therapy dog comes in and stays in the wellness room, room 2051. Cody hangs out waiting for people to come and say hello.
Cody is a 10-year-old golden retriever. His human mom is Mrs. Linda. He is a very friendly and fluffy pup and absolutely loves pets. Mrs. Linda said, “He is very loving, and will 100% fall in love with you, it is very hard for him to not like you.”
Junior, Divine Emereibe said, “He’s very calm, he doesn’t care much for what’s going on around him, he just vibes. Sometimes he’ll walk around and walk around and sniff things out though.”
Mental health affects millions of people every day, teenagers more than ever. The CDC says, “Dogs can help to relieve stress and anxiety in people.” The school has invited Mrs. Linda and Cody for this reason. For those who struggle with mental health, or even just simply want to say hello to a furry friend, grab a pass from a counselor and stop by during your lunch period! Maybe you’ll make a new friend…
