Last Friday (February 21st), EDDAS celebrated their first Coffee House of the 2025 season with great success!
EDDAS, Woodbridge’s oldest and only Literary Magazine, is dedicated to publishing student voices. While this is their main goal, EDDAS are also in charge of providing a space for creativity in multiple mediums.
On Friday, February 21st, the team began decorating the Senior Lounge in Valentine’s Day decorations, setting a friendly ambiance, and preparing their desserts and coffees. Once they had finished setting up, they began welcoming their guests.
At first, nervous energy held back the frightened crowd, but soon, students began relaxing and enjoying the creative atmosphere. A couple shared their personal writing from their free time, but the majority of the work was displayed in the second half.

Unlike previous Coffee Houses, the new team of EDDAS decided to use some of their time to host a writing workshop. Even though traditional workshops include lessons and writing guidance, this year EDDAS used the workshop as a group activity and conversation starter.
The workshop operated like a “Mad Libs” game where members of the audience would give a random word based on the identified part of speech. For example, an adjective could be “spotted”, and a noun could be “elephant”. From this random collection of words the writers could create ANYTHING!
From stunning digital artwork, beautiful poetry renditions, imaginative rap diss tracks, and even an original interpretative dance; Woodbridge students showed their astounding creativity at the February Coffee House.
