Breast Cancer Awareness

Kayla Nider

Breast cancer is a disease that happens year-long, but October is the month that is dedicated to bringing awareness and showing support. Here is how our school contributed.

The cosmetology teachers here at Woodbridge were selling pink hair strips to donate to the American Cancer Society. Our school has had a handful of teachers battle this illness, so it’s important that we educate ourselves and support those that we can. Ms. Corry says that “It’s a way to show emotional and financial support to the women and men battling breast cancer.”

October is annually devoted to educating everyone about breast cancer, but the illness happens year-long. It’s important to make it known that there are many ways to support those in need. “It brings awareness that everyone can do something, and nothing is too small or unappreciated” Ms. Corry mentions.

Here at Woodbridge Senior High School we make contributions each year. You too can make contributions by donating to the American Cancer Society or by wearing a pink ribbon!
