The Vikettes are back, and they’re not going down!
Head Coach, Vu Pham. Coach for the Woodbridge Senior High School Vikettes are ready to win the 23-24 competition! And they won’t go down without a fight. This year they have some returners, some freshmen, but all amazing dancers.
This school year is coach Pham’s first year at WSHS coaching the Vikettes. So far, they have executed flawless performances at Woodbridge’s games! Their goals for this year are to win, become stronger and stronger every day, and to never back down.
As coach Pham said they have not attended Districts for a little while, “in the past before early COVID-19 stage as they have and placed fairly good.”
Dance is a very overlooked sport, some people say. But coach Pham is aiming for two other competitions in Prince William County and in Stafford County in November into January. “Hopefully we do extremely well on our competitions, and we’ll crush it and then represent Woodbridge in a good way, in a bright light.”
Dance can be a tiring sport, but when you love something, you can’t stop. But Coach Pham wants to be great for his first year of coaching here and leads an amazing team to victory!
As it is Kate Buswell’s last year here at WSHS and as a Vikette, she said it has been the best four years at WSHS, and this year has been her favorite overall. “While it’s sad realizing this will be my last year on the team, I’m so excited to continue working with these girls and lead the team as captain.” Kate says.
Coach Pham is always interested in the girl’s unique styles of dance every practice. And he also brings new styles every day that help them create assorted styles for the year.
Working with dancers not only younger but also her age is incredibly fascinating, they help her try harder and work even better than she has before. She says the Vikettes are just like her second family from hanging out at practice or getting food or even team bonding’s.
