2023’s pep rally is certain to be bigger and better than last years! 

Members of SALT put hard work into this year’s pep rally to make it memorable for the students. Students were able to join any of the events by filling out a form online, which you can find on the WSHS SALT Instagram page!  

There are five different events that the students are going to participate in! This includes the musical chairs, the tug-of-war, and two mini events in the relay race. The SALT members state, “The biggest difference from last year’s pep rally is the relay race, so adding two mini events would be the best option to give the students more events to participate in.” Although time was against them and there were multiple shipment issues, SALT was able to hammer out and finish preparing for the pep rally in time for this afternoon.  

Students in grades 9-12 can participate in the events in numerous ways! There are even people who won hoco courts as well as the fall teams are all participating in the pep rally! Mya Dukes, a freshman says, “Since I won homecoming princess for freshmen, I get to walk in the pep rally!”  The pep rally gets students hyped up for homecoming using the various activities as well as letting the students have a fun start to the day! Sophomore Alessandra Morales said, “I’m super excited because we get to see who hoco in person and I get to run through with my field hockey team!”.  

Overall, the pep rally is an event that always gets people excited, not just because of the events that go on, but for what is to come after it too! Be sure to attend this upcoming pep rally today!
